Coreospira raymondi was named by Shaw (1957) [Coreospira? raymondi; = Helcionella aff. paupera of Shaw 1954 & Stenotheca rugosa of Walcott 1886 & Schuchert 1937. ]. Its type locality is SA-EC-1, which is in a Delamaran carbonate limestone/shale in the Parker Slate Formation of Vermont.
