Matejkia was named by Eliasova (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo Sepkoski's reference number: 658]. It is not extant. Its type is Matejkia gigantea.

It was assigned to Mussidae by Eliasova (1974); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
