Taxonomy
Mononykinae was named by Chiappe et al. (1998). It was considered monophyletic by Chiappe et al. (1998).
It was synonymized subjectively with Parvicursorinae by Choiniere et al. (2010); it was reranked as the unranked clade Mononykini by Agnolin et al. (2012).
It was assigned to Alvarezsauridae by Chiappe et al. (1998), Chiappe et al. (2002), Suzuki et al. (2002), Martinelli and Vera (2007) and Longrich and Currie (2009); and to Parvicursorinae by Agnolin et al. (2012).
It was synonymized subjectively with Parvicursorinae by Choiniere et al. (2010); it was reranked as the unranked clade Mononykini by Agnolin et al. (2012).
