Microsmilia was named by Koby (1888) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo J u Sepkoski's reference number: 842].

It was assigned to Guyniidae by Wells (1956); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).

Synonyms

Colonicyathus was named by Eliasova (1997).

It was synonymized subjectively with Microsmilia by Baron-Szabo (2009).
