It was assigned to Vulcanodontidae by Bandyopadhyay (1999); to Eusauropoda by Wilson (2002); to Sauropoda by Yadagiri (1988), Yadagiri (1993), Yadagiri (2001), Upchurch et al. (2004), Royo-Torres et al. (2006) and Moser et al. (2006); to Cetiosauridae by Bandyopadhyay and Sengupta (2006); and to Sauropoda by Bandyopadhyay et al. (2003), Upchurch et al. (2007), Bandyopadhyay et al. (2010), Sekiya (2011) and Khosla and Bajpai (2021).
