Zanno et al. 2009Nothronychus can be differentiated from all other therizinosaurs by the following autapomorphies: scapula with dorsoventrally tapering blade; distinctly subcircular obturator process; ovoid, dorsoventrally elongate obturator foramen (maximum length greater than 200% of maximum width); contact between pubis and ischium restricted to proximal half of obturator process; and presence of a deep notch between ventral aspect of obturator process and cranial ischial shaft.
