Zigongosaurus
Taxonomy
Zigongosaurus was named by Hou et al. (1976). It is not extant. Its type is Zigongosaurus fuxiensis.
It was synonymized subjectively with Omeisaurus by Dong et al. (1983), McIntosh (1990) and Dong (1992); it was synonymized subjectively with Mamenchisaurus by Zhang and Chen (1996), Ouyang and Ye (2002), Upchurch et al. (2004) and Li et al. (2011).
It was assigned to Bothropodidae by Hou et al. (1976); to Euhelopodinae by Martin-Rolland (1999); and to Mamenchisauridae by He (1984), He et al. (1988) and Peng et al. (2005).
