Taxonomy

Camarasaurinae was named by Nopcsa (1928). Its type is Camarasaurus.

It was assigned to Morosauridae by Nopcsa (1928); to Camarasauridae by Kuhn (1946), Steel (1970), Swinton (1970) and McIntosh (1990); and to Brachiosauridae by Romer (1956), Dong (1990) and Zhao (1993).
