Lucina cumulata was named by Gabb (1864) [Lower-Upper Eocene; California-Washington; Synonyms: Lucina cumulata, Divaricella cumulata, Divaricella (Egracina) cumulata]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Divaricella (Egracina) cumulata by Moore (1988); it was recombined as Divaricella cumulata by Squires (2001) and Hendy (2020).
