Taxonomy
Palaeohelia was named by Alloiteau (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 658]. It is not extant. Its type is Palaeohelia collignoni.

It was assigned to Oculinidae by Baron-Szabo (2002); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
