Spalacotherium tricuspidens
Taxonomy
Spalacotherium tricuspidens was named by Owen (1854). Its type specimen is BMNH 46019, a mandible (left mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Lower Purbeck, Swanage (Brodie coll.), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.
