Taxonomy
Wangacteon grebneffi was named by Stilwell (1993). Its type specimen is OU 39611, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mitchells Rocks, Wangaloa (H46/f166), which is in a Danian coastal sandstone in the Wangaloa Formation of New Zealand. It is the type species of Wangacteon.
