Taxonomy
Xiangxipus youngi was named by Zeng (1982). Its type specimen is HV003-1,2 and is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hongwei tracksite, Jiuquwan mine (HV), which is in a Cretaceous terrestrial sandstone in the Xiaodong Formation of China.
