Yangtzepus yipingensis

Taxonomy
Yangtzepus yipingensis was named by Young (1960). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is IVPP V2473, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Guanyingchong tracksite, which is in a Barremian/Albian terrestrial sandstone in the Jiaguan Formation of China.

S. Zhen et al. 1989Plantigrade tridactyl print with three closely spaced digits. The manus length is 14.1 cm and the width is 10.2 cm. The angle between digits II and III is 75°. The lateral digits of the manus distinctly converge. The pes length is 29.0 cm and the width is 15.5 cm. The angle between digits II and IV is 81°. Lateral pes digits rather long but of subequal length. Digit III well separated from the hallux. Pad number in II is two, in III and IV is three. Possible skin impressions present showing coarse granulations.
