Eomaia scansoria
Taxonomy
Eomaia scansoria was named by Ji et al. (2002). Its type specimen is CAGS01-IG1-a, b, a skeleton (part and counterpart of a skeleton with some preserved soft tissues), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Dawangzhangzi, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine shale in the Yixian Formation of China. It is the type species of Eomaia.
