Apheliscinae was named by Matthew (1918) [possibly named by Matthew at a different rank (family?)]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Hyopsodontidae by Van Valen (1967); to Mioclaenidae by Archibald (1998); and to Apheliscidae by Zack et al. (2005).
