Taxonomy
Amphicticeps makhchinus was named by Wang et al. (2005). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MAE 93-213. Its type locality is Ulaan Khongil, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial gravel in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.
