Taxonomy

Anchisauripodidae was named by Lull (1904). It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was synonymized subjectively with Grallatoridae by Baird (1957), Kuhn (1966) and Demathieu (1989).

It was assigned to Theropoda by Hitchcock and Grier (1927); to Trisauropodia by Ellenberger (1974); to Saurischia by Kuhn (1958) and Haubold (1974); to Coelurosauria by Haubold (1969), Haubold (1971), Demathieu and Haubold (1972) and Yang and Yang (1987); to Coelurosauria by Lull (1953), Kuhn (1963), Gand (1974) and Zhen et al. (1989); and to Theropoda by Lull (1904), Lull (1915) and Carrano (2025).

Synonyms

Otouphepodidae was named by Lull (1915). It is not extant. Its type is Otouphepus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Grallatoridae by Kuhn (1966); it was synonymized subjectively with Anchisauripodidae by Kuhn (1963) and Haubold (1971).

It was assigned to Theropoda by Lull (1915); and to Saurischia by Kuhn (1958).
