Pseudodiplocoenia was named by Alloiteau (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: J Call J Tith-u Sepkoski's reference number: 658]. It is not extant. Its type is Pseudodiplocoenia lazarivensis.
It was assigned to Amphiastreidae by Beauvais (1966); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
