Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
A. Houssaye et al. 2013Snake referred to the Palaeophiidae on the basis of the following assemblage of characters: pte- rapophyses present, axis of the cotyle–condyle system hor- izontal, position of the paradiapophyses relatively low and hypapophyses not restricted to cervical vertebrae. Assigned to the Palaeophiinae on account of the presence of at least one hypapophysis on all precloacal, the presence of a sec- ond small hypapophysis under the cotyle in anterior ver- tebrae, the presence of pterapophyses through the entire precloacal series and the marked projection of the paradi- apophyses below the ventral border of the centrum.
