Microraptor zhaoianus

Taxonomy
Microraptor zhaoianus was named by Xu et al. (2000). It is not extant. Its type specimen is IVPP V.12330. Its type locality is Xiasanjiazi, which is in an Aptian lacustrine sandstone/mudstone in the Jiufotang Formation of China.

Synonyms
  • Cryptovolans pauli was named by Czerkas et al. (2002). Its type specimen is LPM 0200, 0201, a skeleton, and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Shangheshou, which is in an Aptian lacustrine sandstone/mudstone in the Jiufotang Formation of China.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Microraptor zhaoianus by Senter et al. (2004).
  • Archaeoraptor liaoningensis was named by Sloan (1999). Its type specimen is IVPP V12330, a set of vertebrae, and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Xiasanjiazi, which is in an Aptian lacustrine sandstone/mudstone in the Jiufotang Formation of China.

    It was synonymized objectively with Microraptor zhaoianus by Xu et al. (2000).
