Enigmosaurus mongoliensis

Taxonomy
Enigmosaurus mongoliensis was named by Barsbold and Perle (1983). Its type specimen is PST GIN AN MNP 100/84 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khara Khutul (PIN coll. 5268) [MPE/SMPE], which is in a Cenomanian/Santonian terrestrial horizon in the Baynshire Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Enigmosaurus. It was considered monophyletic by Currie (2000).

Zanno 2010A therizinosaurian bearing the following autapomorphies: dorsoventrally shallow pubic boot with pronounced, subequal cranial and caudal processes; pubic boot fused, enlarged medially, with medial expansion forming V-shaped trough (adopted from Barsbold 1983); medial fusion of obturator process and pubic apron forming tetraradiate process (Fig. 3).
