Vulcanobatrachus mandelai
Taxonomy
Vulcanobatrachus mandelai was named by Trueb et al. (2005). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-K9614, a skeleton (complete skeleton), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Stompoor farm, Marydale, which is in a Campanian crater lake siltstone/conglomerate in South Africa. It is the type species of Vulcanobatrachus.
