Taxonomy
Seriastraea was named by Schäfer and Senowbari-Daryan (1978) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 919]. It is not extant. Its type is Seriastraea multiphylla.

It was assigned to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Astraeomorphidae by Roniewicz (1989) and Stanley and Onoue (2015).
