Taxonomy
Oxydiscus (Joleaudella) was named by Patte (1929). Its type is Oxydiscus (Joleaudella) mansuyi.

It was reranked as Joleandella by Kobayashi (1958); it was synonymized subjectively with Tropidodiscus by Knight et al. (1960); it was reranked as Joleaudella by Wagner (2023).

It was assigned to Oxydiscus by Patte (1929); to Bellerophontacea by Kobayashi (1958); and to Cymbulariinae by Wagner (2023).
