Taxonomy
Orthonychia pentalvea was named by Talent and Philip (1956). Its type locality is Old Toongabbie Marble Quarry, Lower Quarry, Marble Creek, which is in a Siegen carbonate limestone in the Toongabble Limestone Formation of Australia.
