Taxonomy
Parabrontopodus was named by Lockley et al. (1995). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is the type genus of Parabrontopodidae.
It was assigned to Sauropoda by Lockley et al. (2002), Romero Molina et al. (2003) and Niedzwiedzki and Pienkowski (2004); to Sauropoda by Lockley et al. (1995) and Le Loeuff et al. (2006); and to Parabrontopodidae by Meyer et al. (2021).
