Taxonomy
Pruvostastraea was named by Alloiteau (1957) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo-l J Tith Sepkoski's reference number: 820]. It is not extant. Its type is Pruvostastraea labyrinthiformis.

It was assigned to Rhipidogyridae by Turnsek (1997); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
