Fieldia was named by Walcott (1912) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm mMid-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Fieldia lanceolata.

It was assigned to Fieldiidae by Conway Morris (1977); and to Priapulida by Sepkoski (2002).
