Lecythioscopa was named by Conway Morris (1977) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm mMid-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Lecythioscopa simplex.

It was assigned to Archaeopriapulida by Conway Morris (1977); and to Priapulida by Sepkoski (2002).
