Anomphalacea was named by Wenz (1938) [reranked by Knight et al. 1960 (ref. 10229)]. It is not extant.

It was corrected as Anomphaloidea by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975) and Wagner (1999).

It was assigned to Trochina by Knight et al. (1960); to Anisobranchia by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975); and to Euomphalina by Wagner (1999).
