Scalitina was named by Spriesterbach (1919) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give C Vise Sepkoski's reference number: 362]. It is not extant. Its type is Scalitina montana.

It was assigned to Raphistomatinae by Knight et al. (1960); to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Soleniscidae by Wagner (2023).
