Eosiren stromeri

Taxonomy
Archaeosiren stromeri was named by Abel (1913). Its type specimen is SMNS unnumbered , a partial skeleton (skull and partial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mainland opposite Geziret el-Qarn, which is in a Priabonian lagoonal shale in the Qasr el-Sagha Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Archaeosiren.

It was recombined as Eotherium stromeri by Sickenberg (1934) and Domning (1978); it was synonymized subjectively with Eosiren libyca by Gingerich (1992); it was recombined as Eosiren stromeri by Domning (1994) and Domning (1996).
