Spinostropheus gautieri
Taxonomy
Elaphrosaurus gautieri was named by Lapparent (1960). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MNHN 1961-28. Its type locality is Oued Timmersöi, west of In Tedreft, which is in a Berriasian/Barremian terrestrial horizon in Niger.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Makovicky et al. (2004); it was recombined as Spinostropheus gautieri by Sereno et al. (2004), Carrano and Sampson (2008), Le Loeuff et al. (2012), Serrano-Martínez et al. (2015), Rauhut and Carrano (2016) and Souza-Júnior et al. (2023).
It was considered a nomen dubium by Makovicky et al. (2004); it was recombined as Spinostropheus gautieri by Sereno et al. (2004), Carrano and Sampson (2008), Le Loeuff et al. (2012), Serrano-Martínez et al. (2015), Rauhut and Carrano (2016) and Souza-Júnior et al. (2023).
