Sophia was named by Carter et al. (1998). It is not extant. Its type is Sophia tuberis.
It was synonymized subjectively with Emiluvia by O'Dogherty et al. (2009).
It was assigned to Hagiastridae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Eptingiidae by Tekin (2002).
