Taxonomy
Nerita exuvioides was named by Trechmann (1935) [DISTRIBUTION: Neogene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is BMNH GG 4503, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nerita (Nerita) exuvioides by Jung (1971); it was recombined as Nerita (Theliostyla) exuvioides by Vokes (1983).

P. Jung 1971Of medium size; spire low; body whorl inflated. Sculpture consists of 12 coarse spirals with interspaces of about the same width. The sides of the spirals are slightly overhanging the interspaces. Apertural features unknown.
