Auriptygma fortior

Taxonomy
Auriptygma fortior was named by Perner (1903) [Auriptygma fortior Barrande in Perner 1903]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Dvorce Cement Factory, Praha - PodolĂ­, which is in a Gorstian carbonate limestone in the Kopanina Formation of the Czech Republic.

It was recombined as Macrochilina fortior by Wagner (1999).

J. B. Knight 1941Very thin-shelled, turbinate gastropods of medium size without sinus, slit, or selenizone; whorl profile strongly arched between sutures; sutures deep; base rounded, somewhat extended anteriorly, anomphalous, but with a false umbilicus; nucleus unknown; columellar lip very slightly thickened at its margin, with a slight helical twist bending the anterior lower half somewhat to the left while the posterior upper half arches somewhat to the right, the lip meeting the parietal wall within the false umbilicus; parietal wall seemingly without an inductura; outer lip thin, sharp, its margin very slightly oblique backward from the upper suture; aperture suboval, slightly restricted, and extended forward and to the left; columella as shown in section slender, reflecting the slight helical twist of the columellar lip, without a trace of a siphonal fold; ornamentation fine transverse lirae.
