P. Y. Parkhaev and Y. Demidenko 2010"Small, up to 1 mm long nail-shaped sclerites, composed of discoid base (or shield) and subcentral long spine off going from base. Discoid base circular, oval, quadrangular, irregularly cordate, or violin-like in outlines, often thickened in central area. Spine pyramidal, straight or curved, with circular, oval, or crescent-like cross-section, perpendicular to basal shield, or inclined to 40°–50°. Base smooth externally or bears radial striae. Spine surface smooth or with transverse furrows and longitudinal ribs."
