It was recombined as Tomoceras gillianus by Knight (1941); it was recombined as Porcellia gillianus by Sturgeon (1964) and Yochelson and Saunders (1967); it was recombined as Ambozone gilliana by Batten (1972) and Kues and Batten (2001); it was recombined as Tomoceras gilliana by Wagner (2023).
