Conoidocyathus was named by Vologdin (1964) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto Sepkoski's reference number: 1006]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Conoidocyathoidea, Conoidocyathidae.
It was assigned to Cribricyathea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Conoidocyathidae by Zhuravlev and Kruse (2015).
