Taxonomy
Euomphalus decewi was named by Billings (1861). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Pleuronotus.

It was recombined as Pleuronotus decewi by Hall (1879), Knight (1941), Linsley (1994) and Wagner (2023).
