Taxonomy
Euomphalus fairchildi was named by Clarke and Ruedemann (1903). It is not extant. Its type locality is Pike's Quarry, Frost Ave & Summer St, Rochester, which is in a Homerian carbonate dolomite in the Lockport Formation of New York.
