Taxonomy
Gyrospira tourteloti was named by Boucot (1956). It is not extant. Its type locality is USGS 3137. Chacorillo farm, ~6 km north of Kilometer 65 of Potosi-Sucre Rd, which is in a Caradoc/Katian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Anzaldo Formation of Bolivia.
