Redstonia cooperi

Taxonomy
Hippocardia cooperi was named by Pojeta and Runnegar (1976). Its type specimen is USNM 162786 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USGS 0600-CO, near Strasburg, which is in a Blackriveran carbonate limestone in the Chambersburg Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Iapetocardia.

It was recombined as Iapetocardia cooperi by Rogalla and Amler (2006); it was recombined as Redstonia cooperi by Wagner (2023).
