Bercutia was named by Missarzhevsky and Mambetov (1981) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1244]. It is not extant. Its type is Bercutia cristata.

It was assigned to Mitrosagophora by Sepkoski (2002).
