Taxonomy
Gamizyga (Hyphantozyga) textilis was named by Hoare and Sturgeon (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ga-1. Small abandoned quarry, 1.6 kilometers northeast of New Concord, which is in a Missourian marine limestone in the Glenshaw Formation of Ohio.

It was recombined as Hyphantozyga textilis by Wagner (2023).
