Taxonomy
Loxonema reedi was named by Longstaff (1909). It is not extant. Its type locality is Chair of Kildare, eastern Ireland, which is in a Hirnantian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks/mudstone in the Kildare Limestone Formation of Ireland.
