Taxonomy
Megalomphala dawesi was named by Peel (1991). Its type specimen is MGUH 20.846, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GGU 82341, 82399 & 8304. Korsgard Bjerg, Nyeboe Land, which is in a Llandovery carbonate limestone in Greenland.
