Mesocoelia janus

Murchisonia (Mesocoelia) janus was named by Perner (1907) [Murchisonia (Mesocoelia) Janus]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kosov quarry locality (Dlouhá Hora), Kopanina Fm, which is in a Ludlow deep subtidal limestone in the Kopanina Formation of the Czech Republic. It is the type species of Mesocoelia.
It was recombined as Murchisonia janus by Knight et al. (1960); it was recombined as Mesocoelia janus by Tassell (1982), Pan and Cook (2003) and Wagner (2023).
