Taxonomy
Loxonema vincta was named by Hall (1856). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Spergen Hill, near railroad station at Harristown, southeast of Salem, which is in a Meramecian carbonate limestone in the Salem Formation of Indiana.
It was recombined as Murchisonia vincta by Wagner (2023).
